We Syrian Christians are obliged to the supremacy of the throne of St.Peter and successors seated on the throne from AD 37 till date.
It was the time of preparation. Many faithful gathered in various locations at different times and pleaded to our mother church. HE Mor Themotheos Thomas of Kottayam Diocese accepted the request and initiated in starting a congregation under His Eminance.
HE Mor Themotheos Thomas appointed Rev.Fr. Kuriakose Kadavumbhagam as the vicar and first Holy Qurbana was celebrated on 9th March 2008, at Armenian Church, City Hall.
HB Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I visited the congragetion and celebrated Holy Qurbono on 13th April 2008 and elevated the congregation as a Church named, St.Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church.
We conducted serivce in many places and bought a place our own and the concecration was held on February 2013 by HB Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I, Catholicose of India. During the occasion HH Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka Iwas I evelated the church as Cathedral through his Apostolic bull.
